Simotel Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Simotel Chrome Extension handles user data for click-to-call, PBX integration and related browser-based telephony features.

Summary

The Simotel Chrome Extension is designed to help users start calls and connect browser workflows to their Simotel PBX or call center environment. The Extension does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not transfer user data to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers.

Limited Use statement: The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Information the Extension may handle

The exact data handled depends on the features enabled by the user or the administrator. The Extension may process the following categories only when needed for its user-facing functionality:

Information not collected for Extension purposes

  • The Extension is not designed to collect passwords, payment card data, health data or government identification numbers.
  • The Extension is not designed to collect full browsing history unrelated to its user-facing click-to-call or integration functionality.
  • The Extension does not use Extension data to create advertising profiles or deliver personalized, re-targeted or interest-based ads.

How information is used

  • To provide click-to-call, number detection, PBX integration, CRM workflow integration and call-status functionality.
  • To authenticate the user or the organization’s configured connection to Simotel services.
  • To maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and improve reliability of the Extension and related Simotel services.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations when required.

Sharing and transfer of information

Simotel does not sell user data. Simotel does not transfer user data to third parties for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, credit-worthiness evaluation or lending purposes.

User data may be transferred only in limited cases:

  • To the Simotel server, PBX, CRM or integration endpoint configured by the user or the user’s organization, when necessary to provide the Extension’s single purpose and user-facing features.
  • To service providers acting on Simotel’s behalf for hosting, security, monitoring or support, under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
  • When required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
  • When necessary to detect, prevent or respond to fraud, malware, spam, phishing, abuse or security incidents.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to applicable legal requirements and required user notice or consent.

Human access to user data

Simotel personnel are not permitted to read user data except in the following limited circumstances:

  • When the user or organization gives explicit consent for support or troubleshooting.
  • When access is necessary for security, abuse investigation or service protection.
  • When required to comply with applicable law.
  • When data is aggregated or anonymized for internal operations and cannot reasonably identify a user.

Storage, security and retention

  • Extension settings may be stored locally in the browser using Chrome extension storage or equivalent browser storage.
  • Personal or sensitive user data transmitted to Simotel-controlled services is protected using modern transport security such as HTTPS or WSS.
  • Access credentials should be configured and protected by the user or organization administrator. Administrators should avoid sharing credentials and should rotate credentials when access changes.
  • Operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, legal compliance and service operation.
  • Users or organization administrators may remove locally stored Extension data by uninstalling the Extension, clearing Extension storage or revoking the configured token/API key from the connected Simotel environment.

User choices and data deletion

  • Users can disable or uninstall the Extension from Chrome at any time.
  • Users can remove locally stored settings by resetting or uninstalling the Extension.
  • Organization administrators can revoke server-side tokens, API keys or accounts used by the Extension.
  • Requests about access, correction or deletion of data handled by Simotel can be submitted through the Simotel contact page.
